It's that time of year to change your wardrobe, and believe it or not it's time to summer-ize your beauty routine, too! Many of my clients say they have a normal to dry skin through the cooler/winter months and have a bit oilier skin during the summer. With this change in skin type, I suggest reevaluating you skin care as well as your makeup routine!

Well, whether or not you do, I always suggest wearing the appropriate SPF for your skin type. Here are a few suggestions for your summer skin:
Do you have seasonal oily/shiny skin in the summer?
I always tell my clients that the most important steps in your makeup routine are the 1st and the last. With that said, be sure to use an oil-free primer that is water based to allow your skin to breathe and control your shine. My favorite is the Laura Mercier Primer Oil-Free. Since it is water based, it helps to hydrate the skin while still controling the oil across the day. It allows your skin to breath and is very comfortable on the skin. Another important step is to use an oil-controlling, mattifying powder to remove any excess shine as the day progresses.
Do you like to keep cool in the hot weather?
Using a misting spray to set your makeup and or to refresh your skin is a great way to cool off! Try putting the mist in the refrigerator to keep you cool when the heat is high! These are a few great ones for all skin types:
