Back in October, I shared with you all that I needed to gain control of my weight. In part one of this series, I wrote about how I was just eating horribly and I needed to do better. My plan was to start getting my shit together right then and there but that didn't happen. My weight has always been something I've kept an eye on because there was once upon a time when I tipped the scale at 225 lbs and some change. This was during my high school years, but nonetheless, I know I am VERY capable of eating my way into buying two seats when traveling the highway in the sky. So, can I be real with y'all??? I didn’t start my journey until December 9th. I know, I know, I know. It was supposed to be October but... There was no reason but sheer laziness that prevented me from starting sooner. I was fed up but unmotivated. Tired was always my excuse. Until my muffin top was fully baked and overflowing. Then I said, “Self, get yo ass up and stop playing!”
I wanted to come back and check in with y’all to let you all see the bit of progress I’ve had so far. I still, I repeat, I STILL have a lot work to do!
These two pictures were taken approximately 30 days apart. As you can see I have lost some inches in my mid section. I went from a 34 ¼ inch waist to 32 ¾ inch in a little over 30 days. I have lost 5.3 lbs, my goal was 8 lbs but…. the holidays. I was off work the week between Christmas and the New Year. I worked out less and ate worse than I should. That is THEE absolute reason I did not reach my goal. No one to blame but me!
There isn't any real visible change to my back but it will come with time. I see a slight, if you squint with both eyes, reduction in my waist from behind. It isn't noticeable with the naked eye but it's there. It's kinda like the tickle in the back of your throat before a cold. Others can't see it but you know the cold is coming...
I am buckling down for the next 30 days. Who is with me? I have struggled to reach my goals in the past when I have failed to put together a plan. So let me share my 3 step plan with you in case this serves as inspiration. I find the simpler, the better!
I will work out a minimum of 4 days/week and incorporate weight training into my routine.
I will eat whole foods and avoid ALL processed foods.
No soda and limit my juice in take to once a week. If there is anything on the juice label that is something I would not eat in its whole state I will not drink it.
I love active workouts! For a snapshot of how i get my blood circulating and the sweat flowing, check out Fit Results (click on fit results to the left for a quick video). I go here a few days a week to take part in the boot camp classes. The workouts are killer but fun! You can drop into a class for $15 or take advantage of their introductory rate which is $45 for 30 days of unlimited classes. You can NOT beat that! Let's get it! There is no time like the present. If you have been unmotivated in the past, now is the time to take charge and become a healthier you!
