My go to hairstyle is a twist out. It is easy to achieve, stretches my hair to perfection, and provides my hair with a defined pattern. It’s lit! I have my tried and true products that I use but I like to switch it up every now and then. I have found that my hair can get used to products and no longer react to it the way I want. My hair can be thot-ly at times. She so thirsty to check out the new dude (by dude, I mean product) on the block; always showing out and being on her best behavior when he treats her right. And I can’t be mad at her. I mean, she makes me look good with her thotness!
In order to achieve the below look, I washed, conditioned, and moisturized my hair with Twisted Sista’s new Coconut, Avocado, and Almond Oil line. The clarifying shampoo cleaned my hair well and the intensive leave-in left it feeling hydrated and moisturized. I am winning at life at this point! I allow my hair to air dry about 50% of the way. This helps to ensure that it is completely dry the next morning. My hair is pretty dense so it really retains water and takes FOR.EV.VER to dry. Allowing it to dry 50% of the way before twisting it up is a must! Once half way dry, I add my cream based moisturizer. For this look I used TS’s Curl Activator Creme followed by Ecostyler gel to lock in the twist. The Curl Activator Creme softened my strands and the Ecostyler provided that much needed hold. I then divided my hair into four sections. Each of those four section were divided into another four separate parts. This process will provide me with sixteen medium sized twists.
Look, if your hair is anything like mine pay attention here. I never, ever, ever, evvvvvvveeer take down my twists without using Shea butter. NEVER. It’s bae. The homie lover friend. My ride or die. My hot sauce in my bag. She is in my will... But I digress. I work to separate the twisted sections where they naturally want to pull apart. This will keep the texture intact and reduce frizz. My hair is prone to frizz so I don't try to avoid it but instead minimize it. Once completely separated I fluff until I achieve my desired look! I prefer my hair on days 2 - 4 the most. It still has some texture with even more volume. #TeamBigHair
